Game of Thrones, "A Man Without Honor" discussion for book readers
Spoilers Included

Same deal as always: we're trying to keep the comments for my "Game of Thrones" episode reviews as free of book spoilers as possible, so I'm setting up these message board posts each week where those of you who have read all of A Song of Ice and Fire so far can discuss TV vs. book to your heart's content.

I'll plug in a link to the review when it's been published.

I think the Reeds are being cut out which is really disappointing. Maybe they'll find a way to show up next season, but I don't think they want to get rid of Osha and bringing in the Reeds does that so they've decided to have Osha just take their place.

I only JUST finished Clash of Kings and I can report that yes, we have not been given the backstory of Jaime in Book 2.

It seems as if the writers are alluding to all sorts of stuff that is going to happen in later books.

I can't imagine her book character doing that, but at this point, I think the show has made clear it will deploy non-book causes to instigate book-consistent effects, and eliminating the Vargo Hoat/hauled off to Harrenhall/Brienne and Jamie storyline will definitely speed things up.

Just a thought, I don't think it'll happen but I kind of worry it might.

No. One if she takes his hand why would he trade himself for the Stark girl(s). And secondly that scene in ACoK ended with her asking for Brienne's sword as well. And was left as a cliffhanger thinking she was going to kill Jaime which is resolved quickly when we see him as a pro character in ASoS...

I of course only realized this 20 minutes after posting it. Oh well. Now that they're on their Midnight Run, will be interesting to see how they treat Jaime. They definitely did not hack off Tyrion's nose, though he's maimed in other ways. What about Jaime, then? Something less horrible?
